Membership to the Washtenaw County Historical Society is open to all individuals or organizations interested in the preservation and sharing of our county's history.

A donation to the WCHS supports the work that has to be done on behalf of the community to preserve and share local history.


The endowment fund for both the WCHS and the Argus Museum were created to ensure the Society is able to care for the collections including our greatest artifact, the house that is home to  the Museum on Main Street


.The donation button has a pull down menu where you can choose to make a contribution of any amount to the WCHS, the Museum on Main Street, the WCH Endowment Fund or the Argus Collection Endowment fund. To make a donation to the Argus Museum click here.

3. Volunteer

As a non-profit organization we are always looking for motivated volunteers. If you think you could help out in any way, please download the volunteer form here.

Some of the opportunities include:

  • Cataloging and photographing artifacts.

  • Light filing and sorting in the museum office.

  • Helping maintain the garden and grounds.

  • Membership Committee.

  • Indexing and scanning documents.
